[THE STORM WAS A LOT. He runs from the ruins to Yusuke's side of the island until his leg kills him, and he ends up having to walk the last half. He's heaving by the time he gets to Yusuke who is
probably mourning the lobster sculpture.]
Dude! Yusuke-- [He holds up a femur bone???] Those weird ruins, the ones that look like a spa, or whatever? It's like the lighthouse! Also? Like, there's some weird zombie-ghosts!
well, currently his arms are full of wet and damp sand, and he's trying to carry as much of it in his noodley arms as he possibly can. there is a look of grim determination on his face, and something slightly like grief etched around the ages of his expression. ]
I am endeavouring to regain what the turbulent weather stolen from me. My art, the form of canvas has taken on this island was taken from me, and I will not allow nature to win.
[Ryuji just gawks at Yusuke's desperate attempt to cart sand back and forth.] Whoa, wait up, dude! [He hobbles breathlessly after him, still carrying the stupid ass bone.]
Look, that crazy-ass sand lobster can wait! I'm serious! The other day, there was some--I don't know what the hell it was! Some weirdo zombie-ghost thing with, like, a broken neck, and broken arms! All it kept saying was, "Waka, waka, waka"!
And the ruins! This was in the fountain! [HIM LEG BONE HE HOLDS UP PROUDLY.] Me and Mitsuri got trapped in one of the rooms we opened. It looked, like, a hot spring, but it was all empty, and old and shit. All this black water started shooting out! It smelled gross, dude! Like dead bodies!
And then we passed out! We woke up in nasty bathrobes and had soap! Something fucking weird is going on here!
[ There's a pause as Yusuke just stares at Ryuji, his arms still full of sand. ]
...
Did that not occur to you around the time we were washed up on a deserted island with a group of strangers? Or at the lighthouse, where we may or may not have been accosted by skeletal hands?
[ Did. Did it take waking up in a grotty hot spring with a lady for him to realise things were way past the pale?
Was it fact he woke up next to a lady, was that it? ]
[STOP. He wasn't holding the braincell some of the time, but he knew that much!!]
But things are even weirder, okay! They're getting weirder! There's these--ghosts, or whatever! And the ruins are just as bad as the lighthouse! I thought we were really gonna drown!
We are experiencing strange scenarios but do we have information to piece together what they might mean? [ Something must be done, but what. They're at a notable disadvantage, and he feels like they'd done after Okumura's palace -- wrapped up in something far out of their control. ]
There's enough evidence with the bones and bodies, and the presence of spirits to suggest that goal of sacrifices is not an empty threat meant to scare us...
That's effed up. I mean--I dunno, dude. I found a bone? [He waves it again.] The, uh, whatever they were? Zombie-ghosts.
Pretty real, man. And, like, it was a girl, I think? Her neck was broken, or something. And her arms and legs, or maybe it was just her legs. Anyway!
There wasn't anything in the ruins, not like... a person, or a note. The hot springs just started filling up with this awful, black, nasty water. We passed out, and then when we woke up... There was a bar of soap, I guess?
Man, I can still hear the sound of the water fillin' up the springs...
... Oh. Was she only able to say one word? I have come across a spirtual young lady since I arrived here. Although she looked as though someone had been rather brutal to her with a knife, not like someone had broken her bones.
